Founder of The Picture Roost

Hi, I’m Jacob Weiss — filmmaker, photographer, and founder of The Picture Roost, which I’ve proudly owned and operated since 2023. Based in Las Vegas and currently studying at the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts, I specialize in psychological horror that doubles as sharp societal commentary. I believe storytelling should leave an emotional mark — and sometimes, a scar.

My journey with film and photography began when I was six years old, and I’ve been chasing light, shadow, and story ever since. Over the years, I’ve acted in Chicago Med and Snap Original’s Action Royale, and was honored with the PTA’s top national photography award at a young age.

Currently, I’m active on the festival circuit with my latest short film System, and continue to create narrative work that blurs the line between fear and truth. Whether behind the camera or in front of it, I love doing what I do — telling stories that make people feel something real.
